Purpose of Experiment

  • How easily are your eyes fooled?
  • Which optical illusions tend to fool people the most?
  • Does age or gender influence the ability to see through (solve) illusions?
Instructions

You will need a Flash enabled browser to submit data for this experiment.

Once logged on with successful codes you will be asked to enter your age, gender and, only if your teacher has given you one, a project code.

During the experiment you will be shown a series of nine optical illusons. Parts of each illusion can be changed by moving the slider at the bottom of the screen. You will be asked to move the slider so that objects on the screen have the same size, shape or colour. At the end of the experiment you will be able to see how close your estimates are compared to the actual shape/colour/size. A value will be calculated for each illusion experiment based on how close the slider was to the actual position needed to solve the illusion.
