Purpose of Experiment


Is it simpler to recognise 5 random dots rather than the 5 dots on a dice?
Do you make more errors with larger numbers

Instructions


You will need a Flash enabled browser to submit data for this experiment.

 

Once logged on with successful codes, choose the standard experiment and you will then be asked to enter your age, gender and, only if your teacher has given you one, a project code.

 

During the experiment you will be shown a series of dots which will either appear in random or in regular patterns. Each set of dots will appear for a short time. After they disappear click on the appropriate numbered button to enter your estimate. After 20 attempts you can review your responses and submit your data.

 Once you have submitted your data you will be able to:

  • receive your learners' data by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Request your learners' data stating your name, your school name, LEA code and school code.
  • compare your data from our database using the Random Data Selector (Get Data/Random Data Selector and follow the instructions).
