ExperimentsAtSchool is an initiative of the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education (RSSCSE) and is designed to improve the statistical literacy of school-aged learners. It is based on the successful International CensusAtSchool project and was originally supported by the Centre for Effective Learning in Science (CELS) at Nottingham Trent University.

There are a number of online Adobe Flash based experiments your class can take part in as well as the related resources, all of which are totally free to download and use.

You may also be interested in two of our other projects. CensusAtSchool started over 10 years ago and has a wealth of free, downloadable resources, lesson plans and data. SportAtSchool is our most recent project and follows the successful template laid down by CensusAtSchool. You can view both projects using the links below.

Get Data

Those of you familiar with the CensusAtSchool Random Data Sampler will be delighted to know you can now grab Random Samples from all of our ExperimentsAtSchool experiments.

However, unlike CensusAtSchool where data can be incorporated into our resources and lesson plans there are currently no additional materials for any of the random experiment data but feel free to use the data for you own class/school investigations.

Many of the experiments have extremely low data sets and more than a few test records, we need your help to add to this by taking part in any of the online experiments, remember we can always return your class data for you to compare against a random sample This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A Random Sampler Reaction

Of particular interest may be the Reaction Timer experiment, that has all of our CensusAtSchool Phase 10 Reaction Timer results added to it (over 30,000 records), you can view the original experiment here. There are a number of investigations that could be carried out using this data.
